Master recalls
many funny stories from Her early years, such as how She
was carrying the title of “Master from the Himalayas”,
but appeared in a fabric store wearing ragged robes and
straw sandals to buy cloths, and other amusing incidences
when taking a cab. Master also talks about why She Herself
and Her monastic disciples lived in simple tents while most
of the other monastic practitioners live in temples. In
Her discourse, Master shows great concern towards the spiritual
life of the lay disciples. She asks about the details of
their works and gives precious advice accordingly. In addition,
Master explains why the true renunciates should not accept
offerings from people and should not worry about life without
offerings. She gives many good tips to help the disciples
pursue spiritual practice happily and with peace of mind. |
